Miss Independent

This past week has been kinda emotional for me.  I always knew Avery was ready for elementary school, but it is not always the easiest to watch. She really didn't seem nervous one bit.  The following is a pic I took with my phone on the second day.  This is her usual go-to pose.  Could the girl get any more sassy???

When I picked her up yesterday, I noticed that her backpack was a little heavy.  When I questioned her about it, she said, "Oh, well, I didn't eat my lunch."  I was like, What!  what did you eat?!?.  Her response:  "I wanted to buy mom, they had pizza."  While it makes me happy that she is so comfortable with school that she bought her lunch on the second day, I was a little irritated that I had went to the trouble of packing a lunch.  Sure enough, after I figured out how to set up her lunch account online, I could see that her account was in the negative.  Little stinker!

Seems nice, huh?

And here is my big helper giving her brother a bath.  She is really into taking care of him lately.  He loves it :)

Back to School!

Look who's a Kindergartener!!!!!  I was so nervous for my little girl today, but Avery really seemed nice and calm.  I remember my first days of school, I rarely slept the night before, the anxiety was too much for me, but not my Avery girl!  She woke up in a fabulous mood and had bacon and eggs for bfast.  I think she was actually more excited to wear her new clothes, but oh well.  The whole fam got to take her to her new class, she just grinned from ear to ear.

To celebrate her first day, I surprised her with a new charm for her bracelet.  It's a small school house.

And then we all had frozen yogurt and tcby.  When I asked her about her first day, she didn't really say too much.  The first thing she said was that she was gonna buy her lunch tomorrow.  And her favorite part was lunch :)  She also ran into a few of her friends from church and dance, so she was excited about that.  I hope everyone's kiddos had a great day!  Thank you to all of the teachers that work so hard for our little ones.

Getting ready!

I CANNOT believe that we are 1 week away from the first day of school.  The last 5 years seem to have flown by.  I know Avery is ready for kindergarten, but it still makes me so sad.  Although, I am ready to see what our new routine will entail.  She asked me this morning if she was going to her new school today, just like that.  She doesn't seem too nervous, which is good...maybe it's just me?!?  We wrapped up the school clothes shopping on Friday, so miss priss should be all set.  I just have to pick up her backpack and lunchkit from the monogramming place.  Yesterday, I registered her for a new tumbling class, which she will start this week, and she is signed up for volleyball as well, which will start in Sept.  She has been very persistent about doing both, so I guess we will see how it all works out first. Anyways, here are a few random phone pics from this weekend.

Who knew an empty laundry basket would be so fun?

Little miss got another shipment of bows for school.  I LOOOVE them.

All signed up for tumbling :)

Look who's 14 months!

I haven't updated lately on my little Brady boy.  He is looking so grown up these days.  This weekend, I got his hair cut, which always makes him look so much bigger.  His hair is pretty wavy, so with this Texas heat and humidity, it looks pretty frizzy.  Here's a bit of an update at what our little guy is up to:

  • Is now WALKING!  He has been doing it really well for about a week now.
  • Can still wear 9-12 month clothes, but I put him in 12-18 mo too.  size 4.5 in shoes
  • Still takes a paci (mostly for sleeping)
  • Only drinks out of a sippy cup
  • Sleeps all night, usually goes to bed by 6:45-7pm.
  • Wears size 4 diapers
  • Weighs around 20 lbs (I think)
  • His favorite thing to do is wrestle with Avery and Daddy after bath time.
  • HATES to put his clothes on after bath, we usually have to hold him down, and that's a struggle!
  • Loves toy cars & trucks, and electrical outlets with anything plugged into them.
  • Favorite foods:  strawberries, grapes, chicken, & rice.
  • Has 4 teeth, but is currently teething.

First time to eat an oreo!

Beach trip 2013

A few weeks ago....I know I am behind on the blogging, we took a trip to the beach with the family.  This was Brady's first time at the beach, and we were all looking forward to it.  I can't believe that 1 year ago, I was visiting the beach while we were awaiting the arrival of our little Brady boy.  I think I was around 38+ weeks, and about to pop!  It feels like so much longer than just a year!  And now he is cruising all around the place!

Our first ferry ride!  (Brian was about 30 min behind us)

Brady found a drink! (It was empty)

Thank you so much Tillie and Tim for having us all up for the week.  I know that our babies LOVED the beach, and lots of memories were made :)

Camp Chrissy

I know I have said this before, but my cousin, Christine is soooo great with my kiddos.  She called me a few weeks ago to see if Avery could do the Klein Bearkadettes summer camp.  I said that I would love for her to, but it ends at 12:30 , and I work till 4:00, which is kind of a problem.  She told me that she would work on figuring it all out, but I wasn't that optimistic.  Of course, Aunt Chrissy came through.  Avery got to spend the night with Christine and Reagan most of the week, and even took her to splashtown twice!

First day of camp
