Deer hunting in the living room?

What are these two characters up to today...deer hunting. After church, I came into the living room to find a makeshift deer stand, and my daughter aiming for a stuffed deer on the couch.

About an hour later, Avery came up to me (with the stuffed deer) and said "don't worry Mommy, the deer is not hurt, he is ok." Sorry dad, I don't think this one is ready to go hunting for real yet.

First Day of Preschool 2010

Today was Avery's first day at her new school. I don't know who was more nervous, me or Avery. When we dropped her off, she was all smiles until it was time to say goodbye. It broke my heart to hear her cry, but by the time we had gotten to the door, she was fine. I somehow managed to keep it together too. By 2:30, I couldn't wait to pick her up and see how her day went. I was sooooo excited to see she was in the same outfit. No accidents, and she even took a nap with the other kiddos. I was such a proud momma :) I'm glad I don't start school until next week, so I was here to take and pick her up.

Preschool Preparation

Ok, so if you know me well, you know that I LOOOOVE school supplies. I know, i know, it is a little bit wierd, but I just can't help myself from going into Officemax from time to time. As a kid, this was my favorite part about going back to school. And maybe since I am actually in school this time, it has reached a new high, hehe. Well, I couldn't help myself as I was getting Avery ready to start her new school. I am so nervous for her, but I know she is ready. She will start this coming Monday. Since I am getting busy with working and going to school, I needed Avery to go a few more days, so she will be going to a preschool at a nearby church on 1488.

Yesterday, we headed out to Brenham to tour the Blue Bell factory. I remember doing this as a kid, and wanted to take Avery since she LOVES ice cream. Brian even got to go with us, since he is a ice cream freak as well. We ended up having a great day, and of course ate lots of ice cream. I can't believe the summer is almost over :(

First Haircut

This friday, I finally took Avery to get her first trim. She is such a girl, and did great. Although it only took about 5 min. The ends were looking pretty wild, so I just wanted her to shape it up a little. I'm glad I took her, she now has a little bounce back in her curl.

Doesn't this look like a perfect outfit for 100 degree weather??? This is what happens when you let your toddler pick out her clothes.

On another note, I finished my first semester of NP school! Yayyyyy! One down, only 5 to go...oh geeze. Anyways, I took Avery to the peditrician yesterday because I thought she had a sinus infection, and she weighed in at 28 lbs. I really thought she was 30 lbs, but not quite yet. We left with a decongestant and some antibiotics, so hopefully she will be feeling better soon. She is sooo talkative these days, and talks non-stop. As soon as Brian walks in the door, she is a non-stop chatterbox. Her latest obsession is wonderpets. I bought her a CD for the car, mostly because I couldn't handle Veggie Tales anymore, and she sings the entire time. Her favorite is Lennie, the guinea pig.

A Dixon Addition

This morning I got a call from Tamara at 5am, she thought she was in labor but wasn't sure. So since Brian is was out of town, I asked her to call me when she was on her way to the hospital. At 7am she called me back, her water had broke, and she was in route to the hospital. I jumped into warp speed, got myself and Avery dressed, dropped Avery off at Mandy's and got on I-45. An hour and 1/2 later....I finally made it! I feel so honored that I got to share in their special day! Tamara did such an amazing job, and little Tate is perfect. I love yall!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

This past Monday, I celebrated my 28th Bday. We waited until this weekend to celebrate it, since I am in the middle of finals. However, my sister did surprise me on Monday, and took the day off to spend it with me and Avery. Thanks Aunt Ray, we love you sooo much. Only one more week until I am finished with my first semester of grad school! Yayyyy!
