School's out for summer!

Friday was Avery's last day at her school, so of course I had to post some before and after pics...  Her school is actually open next week too, but I am planning on keeping Avery home with me for some mommy-daughter time before our little man makes his arrival.

She also had her end of school celebration on Friday night.  It really only consisted of her singing 2 songs, but she was so excited to perform!

I am really looking forward to spending some much needed time with my kiddos this summer before taking boards and job searching in the fall.  Bring on the summertime!

School and random phone pics

I absolutely loved the way Avery's school pics turned out!  Her hair looks so long here! I did take her to Sweet and Sassy a few weeks ago, and she had about 2 1/2 inches cut off.  It was just getting too long and hard to manage in the mornings.

And here is my little bunny ballerina....

I haven't blogged about this yet, but this is my graduation/early push present from Brian.  Isn't it just beautiful???  I am so excited to begin using it.  Last Saturday, I took a couple hour beginners photography class just to try to learn the basics and how to use my new camera.  It was perfect, I'm not looking to bust out into the photography field or anything, but just want to know how to take great pics of my kiddos.

Here is miss priss ready for 80's night at dance class.  I love leg warmers ;)

And aren't these two sleeping angels just precious?  I went to pick Avery up from school, and her and Jackson were just snoozing away....

36 weeks and Brady's room

On Saturday, I turned 36 weeks with Brady.  Friday, I had my usual weekly appointment as well as my last ultrasound.  It was so nice to see his sweet little face.  I kinda find it hard to imagine that even though I have been in that OB office the vast majority of my pregnancy (during my preceptorship for NP), I made it through without scanning myself, lol.  He was vertex, and was measuring around 5 lbs 9 oz.  So he should be around 7 lbs at birth.  Avery was 7 lbs 9 oz, and I kinda think he will probably be pretty close to that.  My exam was 1/50/high, which is pretty normal, and pretty much means nothing really except that I am 1 cm dilated.

Face shot...I think he looks like Brian

Yes...boy parts
So I am finally posting a few pics of his room.  I am pretty happy with how it turned out.  I like the classic look of the navy and bright green.  With Avery, I planned and searched for so many things, but this time around, as I was wrapping up grad school, mostly everything was ordered off the internet.  I did make his name banner above his bed though.

And these cute shirts arrived last week.  I ordered them from a lady off of etsy.  I love the way they turned out.  I can't wait to see my two sweeties in them...

Dance Recital

This saturday, Avery had her first dance recital!  We were so proud of her, and she was very excited as well!  Friday night was the dress rehearsal, and Sat evening was the actual recital.  She was so excited to get to wear REAL makeup, and get up on that stage, lol.  All throughout rehearsal she kept asking me, "When do I get to dance???"  I am so glad she was actually so into it.

Very serious....

Check out our tails!

I'm so glad Avery was able to stick to dance throughout the year.  She has met some GREAT girlfriends, and I have met some great moms as well. Watching my little funny bunny up on stage brought back so many dance memories for me as well.  And a big "thank you" to all of the family members that came to cheer Avery on, she was in heaven will all of the attention!

Super Silly Sibling

Last night we attended a sibling class that Memorial Hermann Hosp in the Woodlands offered.  Avery was the perfect age for it, she was so excited!  The nurses really did a great job putting it on.  It was only about an hour long, but they taught the little kids how to change a diaper, swaddling, and how to hold their new baby.  It was so cute to see how excited all the new siblings were.

And on another note, this week is teacher appreciation week, here is a pic of what Avery brought to her teachers at school.  I got the original idea off of pinterest. I think they turned out pretty cute, everyone loves a cute beach towel, right?

And a quick, funny e-card to celebrate Nurse's week:  This is so true.

Happy Nurse's week!  I couldn't have picked a better profession!

Graduation!!!

I actually did it!!!!  I can't believe the day finally happened!  On Friday, when I logged on the blogger, I was so excited to see that my countdown was complete.  Friday was such an emotional day, to say the least.  When I graduated from TWU, I was 21, and college was just the thing everyone else just did.  Yes, I was proud and excited to be a nurse, but this time it was so different.  There were so many more sacrifices that took place, it had such a different feel to it.  The feeling when I looked up into the stands and saw Brian, Avery, and my family cheering me on was indescribable!  The graduation was held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Downtown Houston.

I just wanted to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all of my friends and family for giving me soooo much support and encouragement the past 2 years.  There were many times I thought, "is this really worth it?" but so many people pitched in, and gave me encouragement.

Brian, I know you didn't actually take the tests for me, but this degree is just as much yours as it is mine.  You have made just as many sacrifices as I have, in just a slightly different way.  I am so excited for our future, and watching our family grow.  I love you.
