What I've been up to these days

Well, I have talked about this on facebook, but have yet to blog about it. Last month, I found out that I was accepted into UT's Women's Health Nurse Practioner Program. I will be starting the program next month. I am very excited, but am still in shock that I am actually going back to nursing school (am I crazy or what?). It is a 2 year program, with about 1/3 of it being online. It was a very hard decision, but after many discussions with Brian and many prayers, I have decided to do it. It was something I have always wanted to do, and I think if I don't do it now, I will never do it. I actually liked school, but am very anxious about this go around as not only a student, but as a wife and mother. There are still alot of details that I will have to work out, like how long I will be able to work, but right now we are taking it one semester at a time.

And on another note, Brian passed his PMP test that he has been studying so hard for! I am so proud of him. He has shown so much dedication and hard work, it was all worth it!

I catch a bass dadda!

These pictures were taken a couple of weeks ago, at Ryan's Birthday party. Avery was soo ready to actually catch her first fish, but the fish just weren't biting....poor Avery. She had fun anyways.

I love these pics from the back, they are so sweet.

Lately, I have been asking Avery, "Are you a boy or a girl?" with absolute certainty, Avery shouts back, "I'm a boy!" Brian just grins from ear to ear.

Bluebonnets with a big dose of attitude

Last week, I attempted to take some pictures in the bluebonnets, i think this is the only one of her smiling. She is so strongwilled! Better luck next year :)

Easter weekend 2010

God gave us a world
filled with beautiful things,
The promise of Easter,
the wonder of Spring...
He gave us bright flowers
and blue skies above,
And he gave us much more-
He gave us His love.
My two loves...

But he was pierced for our transressions,

he was crused for our iniquities;

the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,

and by his wounds we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5

After church in the morning, we headed over to Bebe's house down the street to spend some time with family and friends. As usual, the food was awesome, and we were sooo stuffed. The kiddos loved hiding eggs and enjoyed the fabulous weather.

The Easter bunny left a trail of eggs behind.....

which lead to Avery's Easter basket on the porch, he almost ate all of the carrots we left him.

Avery got really excited about the Easter bunny this year. She kept saying "the Bunny's coming, the Bunny's coming!", and it was the first words out of her mouth when she woke up at a VERY early 6am easter sunday.

On Good Friday, Aunt Rachel and Aunt Chrissy stopped by to color some eggs. Avery loved it.

Such a little girl

One day last week, I looked up from cooking dinner, and saw Avery all dolled up. She is such a girl. This is the way she puts a headband on. I think she looks a little 70ish.
A couple of weeks ago, I took her in for her 2 year doctor's appt. Here are her stats:
Height: 36.25 in 95-97%
Weight: 26 lbs 50%
Head: 18.25 25-50%
At just over 2 years old, she is sooo girly. I think it is just something she was born with. Brian still thinks I have alot to do with it, oh well..... One of favorite things is still chapstick. She actually calls it "lipstick". And don't you dare give her a plain mint one. She told me the other day, "NO, I don't like this one, I want the other one." (She knew that in my makeup bag I had a pink pomagranete lipbalm, instead of the plain blistex I had tried to give her.) The girl knows exactly what she wants! She even asked for earrings the other day while in the car. While I was putting on my earrings, she really noticed them, and asked if she could have some too. I simply told her that she would have to ask Daddy when we got home, but we didn't really say too much more. As soon as we walked in the door, she walked directly to Brian, and started shouting "Earrings, Earrings, pleassssse earrings daddy!" He didn't even know what to say, so her just tried to distract her.

This past week, Brian and I got a chance to go to a Rockets game. Even though they lost, it was still a blast. Neither one of us really follows basketball, but we had fun anyways. Thanks Aunt Chrissy for watching Avery!
