12 Months!

 Brady is 12 months!

This little guy turned 1yr on the 13th.  We celebrated his birthday on saturday, so I am working on posting those pics soon.  Here are a few things that this little man is up to:

  • Weighs 18 lbs 15.7 oz (4.5%)  Height 28.75" (17.25%) I was so surprised by these stats!  I really thought he had put on some pounds recently!  He has been so much better with eating, oh well.  He has always stayed around the same growing curve, so that's probably just how he is meant to be :)
  • Is wearing size 9-12 months clothes still. size 3 diapers, and size 4.5 shoe
  • Is in LOVE with my big camera.  Whenever it makes an appearance, he kinda shouts/shrieks with excitement.  This is the COMPLETE opposite as Avery.
  • Can say "Dadda", but rarely says "Momma"
  • Can wave bye-bye, blow kisses, patty-cake, and play peek-a-boo
  • If the dog bowl is left unguarded, he makes a bee-line to it
  • Has 2 teeth....barely.  I think I can say two.  You can just see the top of the second one.
  • Loves to eat almost everything.  This weekend he has tried fried fish and crawfish.  Hey, he's a southern boy!
  • I weaned him from formula last week, so he is drinking whole milk now.
  • Is getting much better with the sippy cup.  I will probably give him a few more weeks before we wean him from the bottle.
  • Has had his hair cut twice now.  And his dark hair is pretty much gone.  It's been replaced with a dark blondish color that is kinda curly.

This is one of the faces he makes when I get out the camera, lol
And here are his professional pics that we had taken for his Bday.  I am in LOVE with them.

Happy Father's Day!

I know I am a bit behind this posting, but life has been crazy busy :)  And I wanted to make sure I wished my husband a Happy Father's Day.  I always knew that Brian would make a great dad, but I didn't realize how much MORE I would love him as I see him father our two children.  My two cannot wait for him to come home from work, tuck them in bed at night, take them out on the boat, or go out to the deer lease together.  Well, mostly Avery for the last couple of things.  I know Brady will learn soon enough :)  Brian is truly a hands-on dad, and has become my teammate when parenting.  I love it when he is emotional or even overprotective about them, or even when I realize that Avery has him completely wrapped around her finger!  Ok, enough with the sappiness, just wanted to make sure he knew how much we love and appreciate him.  Happy Father's Day!

And I have to wish the 2 father's who have both shown us what great dads look like, Happy Father's Day to our dads, Tim and Duane

Happy Birthday Brady!

Today is my Brady boy's 1st birthday!  I can't believe time has passed so quickly!  It still feels like yesterday that I was pacing across Stephanie's house in early labor because we had lost power at our house.  I was both nervous and excited to welcome a boy into our family.  Avery was all I had ever known, would a boy be different?  But the moment I saw his little face, I fell in love.

He has always been the happiest little guy.  As he gets more mobile, he is definitely getting into lots of mischief, but he looks so cute while he does it, lol.  We are having a small family bday party this weekend, so I will have lots of pics to post soon.

Random Wednesday

Good morning!  Just wanted to share a few random pictures that I had on my phone.  It's so convenient, bc I always have it on me, and the big "mom" camera can be a bit hard to have easy access to.

A few days ago, I walked into Avery's room to see that she had made a collage of Brady on her mirror.  This little girl LOVES her little brother....Hmmm, I wonder how long this stage will last???

GCA Graduation

A few weeks ago, Avery had her Pre-K graduation at GCA.  This was quite an emotional night for me.  I couldn't help but remember the first time I brought her to the school, as I was about to begin grad school myself.  She began as a 2yr old, and now graduates as a 5yr old!  She has learned so much from this school, and the teachers and parents have been wonderful.  This year inparticular, has been very memorable.  She has had fabulous pre-k teachers along with a great group of kids.  I love it that she has memorized bible verses and has started her school career right with a strong foundation in Christ.  In the fall she will begin Kindergarten at our nearby elementary school, but we will always be thankful for the teachers of GCA.

I am so proud of my little girl.  Within the last few weeks, she has really been working on reciting all 66 books of the bible.  During her program, she was soooo proud to say them to the audience, and we were so proud to see her do it :)

These pics were her school pics from the spring:

Memorial Day at the lake

Every year, we usually spend the holiday at the lake, and this year was no exception.  This was also the first time that Brady has been able to go out on the pontoon boat.  (He was too small last year).  We know he loves the water, and he loved the boat as well.  He even took a cruise in Brian's boat one day.  He just sat real still and cruised :)  Having a small child at the lake can be a bit difficult, but we managed.  Brady tried to eat the sand and drink the lake water which kept us on our toes.  We had some friends come  up with their girls as well, so Avery was in heaven too.  She played and swam the entire time.  Although I packed my camera, I didn't get it out all weekend, oh well.  I will post Court's soon.  Here are my phone pics:

He's on the move!

Within the last few weeks Brady has gone from not crawling to cruising around the house.  This boy is everywhere!  This week he has gotten into the dog bowl, tried to eat moss out of one of my plants, and has discovered all the cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms.  Most of the time, he loves to follow his big sister into her room, which Avery liked at first, but isn't too big of a fan now.  And, he FINALLY got his first tooth!  He has been pretty fussy lately, I think the second one is trying to break through as well.  At least he won't be toothless for his first birthday!

I was trying to get him to sit still here :/

Hmmm, what's with all this pink stuff?
