Belated Bday post

Last month, I celebrated the big 3-0...yikes!  But I can actually say, I am pretty proud at how much I have accomplished in my 30 years :).  My twenties have been jam packed to say the least...nursing school, 7 years of marriage, various jobs along the way, lots of new friendships, 2 kids, and grad school.  I in no way want my life to slow down, I enjoy being busy, however, I hope that I can enjoy all of the things I have worked so hard for in my twenties.

And during one of our bow-making get togethers, the girls surprised Lizzy and I with a birthday cake.

Brian also took me out for sushi and a trip to market street.  It was successful ;)

Wordless Wednesday

Well, almost wordless...that's Brady's diaper she is wearing

2 Months!

 Look who is 2 months old today!!!  Although, I was kinda bummed, I didn't catch one of his sweet smiles on camera.  I think he smiles much better for the iphone instead of the jumbo mom camera :) 

Here is what my little man is up to these days:

• Is still a great sleeper, and is getting more consistent with naps throughout the day.  Generally goes to sleep around 9-9:30 and sleeps till 3ish, eats, then is back out till 7am.  Still sleeps in his bassinet in our room.
• Nurses like a champ!  From what I can tell, he is getting about 4 ounces a feeding.  Switches to bottle with no problem if I am out running errands.
• Is really laid back and easy going.  He rarely fusses, except if he is tired or hungry.  Hallelujah!
• Super smiley, especially when big sister is talking to him.
• Is wearing 0-3 months clothes
• I'm not really sure how much he weighs, but we go for his check-up next week.
• Starting to blow bubbles
• When he is starting to get aggravated, he starts kicking his right leg.  Brian likes to say he is revving up his engine.

Brady Boy

Sweet Brady is almost 2 months old!  I will do his 2 month sticky shirt pic on the 13th :).  Just wanted to share a few pics of his precious and contagious smile.



 

 These pictures make my heart melt.  He listens and smiles so much when he hears his sister.  The morning I took these he was cooing, and so happy!

Getting Crafty!

I think I have gone craft crazy!  I have always loved doing things like this, but I just have NOT had the time or the energy for it between working and grad school.  Pinterest has the cutest ideas too!  I have a list of all the things I want to do.  I walk into hobby lobby or michaels and go a little crazy, lol.  A few weeks ago a group of my girlfriends got together to learn how to mod podge and make bows.  It is so much fun!

I saw a pic of this fall/halloween wreath on pinterest, I think it turned out pretty cute!

WHNP-BC!

On Monday I took my board exam with the NCC, and I PASSED!!!!  I am now a board certified women's health NP!  What a huge relief to know that I am done! Whew!

I was sooo nervous to take my exam, the last few weeks have been pretty tough.  I barely slept on Sunday night, but made it through the exam ok.  When I finished the computer test, it directed me toward the proctor, who would have my results waiting for me on the printer.  That guy probably thought I was a spaz, bc my hands were shaking so bad.  When I flipped the paper over, I starting crying I was so happy.  I don't know when I turned into such a mush, lol. 

I am just waiting on my license, then I will apply with the Texas Board of Nursing for perscriptive authority, which is another lenthy process in itself.  Good thing I am busy being a stay at home mom, and not rushing out to find a job!

And had to post a pic of these two beauties, which I picked up yesterday.  The TWU one was actually still in the packaging tube from when I received it 8 years ago!  The guy at Micheals said that was pretty commom....  Hopefully within the next few months I will have an office where I can display them!

These days...

These days we are mostly just hanging out around the house, trying to soak up the last month of summertime with both of my kiddos.  However, I think Avery is ready to go back to school already.  In the evenings, I have been busy getting ready for boards, wish me luck!  Hopefully, my next post will be very exciting!  Anyways, here are some random phone pics from our week.

We went to pottery painting place in the Woodlands, the shop was really cute.  Here is a peak of our artwork.
